Short BIO

Giulia Casalena received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Trieste, where she developed expertise in hydrogeology, a field that examines the distribution and movement of groundwater within the Earth’s crust. Her master’s degree, in particular, focused on advanced hydrogeological concepts, allowing her to delve deeper into issues related to the vulnerability of karst aquifers. She is currently working on a research grant at the OGS Institute. In her role, she contributes to the advancement of scientific research, while focusing on the dissemination and promotion of the knowledge generated. She actively participates in initiatives to make scientific research more accessible to the public, promoting greater understanding of environmental issues and the importance of scientific enquiry in addressing global challenges.
